History
Richard T. Merker has nearly 5 decades of case litigations under his belt with over 150 jury trials. He’s successfully tried a murder trial defending an 18yr old client who protected his mother from his abusive step-father, product liability cases, and multitudes of wrongful injury disputes. When not acting as a lawyer, Rick has been an expert consultant on several bad faith and malpractice cases.
Holding every elected position in the Johnson County Bar Association (including President), Rick has a trusted reputation across the metro area. This reputation has led him to become twice submitted to the Governor as a nominee for Johnson County District Court Judge and being appointed to represent the Johnson County Grand Jury.
After serving for a law firm for 50 years, Rick now sets his sights on mediation. His aim is to bring his wealth of experience towards settling disputes outside of the courtroom. His credibility, objectivity, and adaptability allow for quick and creative resolutions.
